FAQ

If you have additional questions that are not answered below, please feel welcome to call us at  469-770-0521 or email us at plano@snowyfun.com anytime.

1. What background, qualifications, and training do the counselors have?
All counselors are high school or college students who are passionate about working with children. They are Red Cross Adult & Child CPR/First Aid & AED Certified. Counselors work together under the supervision of the founder to create a safe, fun, and exciting learning environment.

2. Can I register online?
Yes, online registration is the only option available.

3. How often do you clean your facility?
We take great pride in the cleanliness of Snowy and frequently receive compliments about it. All pads in and around the Play Structure, as well as the floors, are disinfected daily. Our staff also regularly wipes down equipment, tables, chairs, and any other surfaces the campers interact with. Additionally, we require children to wash their hands before and after play.

4. My child has peanut allergies, will this be a problem?
No, we do not provide any products containing peanuts or made in facilities that process peanut products. Since campers bring their own lunches, we ask parents to avoid packing peanut butter or nut-based products to ensure the safety of all campers.

5. What is your system of discipline?
We aim to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. If a child’s behavior becomes disruptive, they will first be asked to stop. If the behavior continues, they may be given a time-out appropriate for their age. Repeated misbehavior could result in the child being separated from the group, and in extreme cases, we may ask the parent to remove their child from camp. Physical or verbal altercations are not tolerated at Snowy.

6. What if my child has an accident?
We ask that all children be potty-trained to avoid accidents. However, if an accident occurs, we will assist your child in changing into the spare clothes packed in their backpack. For safety reasons, two staff members, including one of the same gender as the child, will accompany them. In case of an injury, we will use First Aid kits or ice packs and assess whether to contact the parents immediately. Parents will always be informed when picking up their child. All staff members are Child CPR/First Aid & AED Certified.

7. What if my child is too old for your camps but still wants to participate?
We offer a Jr. Leader program for 13-14-year-olds to gain leadership skills. Please call us for more details.

8. Why do you include an Arcade Room in the camps?
We use the arcade system to reward positive behavior and offer a fun end-of-week activity for all campers.

9. Do I need to pick up my child in person?
Yes, a staff member will assist you with signing out your child, and we will check a valid photo ID to ensure camper safety.

10. Do you offer before or after-camp care?
Yes, we have an Extended Care Program for the Snowy Adventure Camp. If you’d like to enroll in Extended Care, please inform us at least one week before camp starts. Extended Care runs from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily (5:00 PM on Fridays due to Birthday Parties). During this time, children will receive a snack, enjoy Open Play, and participate in arts and crafts.

11. How can I determine if Snowy Camp is right for my child?
You can review the camp schedule to see how we organize activities and decide if it’s the right fit for your child.
